Report View

In a Nutshell

The Report View feature, allows users to view and enter complete smartforms directly within a PDF-formatted document, making for an intutive smartform experience.

Enable Report View

In order to use the Report View feature, you must check the Enable report view feature option in the Smartforms and Feedback settings.

A Closer Look

Smartform Elements

The following smartform elements can be applied to a PDF form in Report View.

For additional details on smartform details, refer to the following guide.

Element Name Description
Subchapter Subchapters become very useful for complex or lengthy scenarios.
Label Can be used to organize and define sections.
Table A powerful table element. Users can include any element type to align with business requirements and customer needs.
Drop-down menu Create and define a drop-down menu.
Number Input A field for numerical entries.
Attachment To add attachments such as images and other files.
Attachment Picker A more powerful attachment element.
Calculation Allows users to run a pre-defined calculation.
Checkbox Keeps the smartforms moving from start to finish.
Picker a scenario-based drop-down menu.
Series Like a template within a template. The Series element allows users to combine all elements together to guide specific scenarios or actions that may occur.
Status A user-defined status field. This can be very useful for follow-up activities.
Signature An essential component of every smartform.

Report View Settings

The Report View Settings option provides additional control over the apperance and position of smartform elements that overlay a PDF form.

The following details can be viwewed in this tab:

Setting Description
Color Color picker. The display color of the smartform element.
Page Number Read-only. The page number on which the smartform element is located.
Font-color The font-color of the text entered/displayed in the smartform element.
Font Size Read-only. The font size of the text entered/displayed in the smartform element.
Width Read-only. The width of the smartform element.
Height Read-only. The height of the smartform element.
Top Read-only. The position relative to the top of the page of the smartform element.
Left Read-only. The position releative to the left of the page of the smartform element.

Report View Workflow

Import Template
The first step is to select the Add New Template option and choose a PDF form to import.
Add Smartform Elements
Next, you will drag and drop the corresponding smartform elements over the PDF form.
Release Smartform
After adding all required smartform elements to the form, you can then release it.
Smartform Instance
Now, the template can be used as a smartform instance in Workforce Management or from the mobile application.

Import PDF Form

When the form has been successfully imported, you will be redirected to the Report View of the Designer:

After a PDF form has been successfully imported, you can then drag and drop smartform elements into the corresponding sections of the form.

By double-clicking on the smartform element, you can then give a title, enter predined text (such as a prompt for the technician completing the smartform), or add additional nuance to the field in the Advanced Settings, where you can, for example, apply a visibility condition:

Once you’re finished, your template will look something like this:

Release Smartform

After you have completed dragging and dropping smartform elements onto corresponding fields, you can then release it by clicking on the status indicator and selecting the release option:

Next you will need to decide what to do with other versions of the template (if other versions exist):

Finally, you can go ahead and release it.

The PDF form template will now be available for use in the mobile application.

Viewing on Mobile

The “Report View” version of the PDF form can then be viewed and completed from the mobile application by completing the following:

Select the smartform that has been created using the “Report View” feature:

You will then be redirected to the smartform, where you can click on highlighted fields and enter information:

When a field is clicked on, the application will use the same data entry features used in the standard smartform tool:

Once completed, you can save the smartform instance, and even have the customer sign on the same form.
