Android Settings

Options

Setting Description Impact
Vibrate When Sync is Finished Triggers a vibrate when data has been synchronized. Only works for iPhone (not iPad). This will impact the device’s vibrate settings when the application is open and in use.
Synchronize on Startup Causes application to automatically synchronize data when initialized. Synchronization performance is directly impacted by the amount of data being synchronized to the application.
Search When I Type Enables the search to begin filtering results while typing. The app will filter search results upon entering data. When not enabled, you must enter the search/filter term and click the search button.

Shake Gesture

Setting Description
Do Nothing Default. Disable shake gesture setting.
Go to Home Screen Navigate to the home screen with a shake gesture.
Sync Application Data Synchronize application data (upstream/downstream) with a shake gesture.

Attachments

Store attachments in the application cache when the application has been closed or is in offline mode.

By enabling caching, there is an impact on the device’s storage and available space. Default is not enabled.

If enabling this setting, it is advised to regularly disable and synchronize data to clean the cache. If the setting is disabled all cached attachments are removed on the next data synchronization
Setting Description Impact
Cacheing Activated Attachments linked to open objects during data synchronization. This helps to ensure that the attachment content is available for field users when working offline.

This setting is only possible to configure if the attachment caching is switched on.

The following options are available:
  • Deactivated (default): No Sync on attachments. Attachments will be downloaded when user is opening them and cached afterwards.
  • Activated: Sync on all attachments. Attachments will be stored on device (attachments can even be opened offline).
  • Mine: Sync on own attachments. Own attachments will be stored on device (attachments can even be opened offline).
By enabling automatic downloading of attachments, there is an impact on the duration of the data synchronization and the device’s storage and available space. Default is not enabled.
Cacheing Deactivated No Sync will occur on application attachments. Attachments will be downloaded when user is opening them and deleted afterwards.
